You Have To Earn Their Heart! An individual has many resources for learning and educating themselves on any specific topic. They can go to the inexpensive resources like Internet, their local library and community education classes. You need to ask yourself why should your audience want to learn from you? You have to Earn Their Heart! You audience wants to know who you are as a person and why you do what you do. They want to see your HEART and your COMMITMENT to helping them achieve their goals. The number one reason individuals will choose to attend one person’s talk versus another is connection. We all want to feel connected to the person we deal with. I recently hired a professional service for my business. I left their office with a gut feeling that they weren't the right person for me. However, I chose to hire them anyway. I never connected with that person. I didn't feel like I could relate to them. I didn't know if I should trust them or if they were truly going to do a great job. Have you ever felt the same way? Just like your audience, we all want to interact with people we connect with. Ultimately, when an audience feels connected to a speaker that is the person they will purchase their services or products from and refer all their friends to. Most speakers do not know how to truly connect with their audience on a very deep level because they have never been trained to do so. Ask yourself how can you start connecting with your audience today? I believe with all my heart that every speaker needs to know how to EARN THEIR HEART in order to connect with their audience. Your audience wants to know what struggles and triumphs you have had, what motivates you, inspires you, and how passionate you are about your topic and why! |
