What are the steps to working with a web and graphic designer on your marketing project?

I get this question alot, after the business concerns have been taken care like estimate, time frame and contract.

Whatever the project, I try and get a good idea of you as a person and the kind of designs you like...color, layout...and it helps to get a feel for your personality. I ask what kind of impression you want to make when people either go to your website or look at your logo or ad. Are you going for the healthy, clean look...or do you want a more mysterious and spiritual vibe? This all helps me to hit the nail on the head.

Websites:
I ask clients to look at sites that are similar to their business or ones they just like to create something unique for them. I begin by drawing the layout on paper, or I go to the computer to start a first draft. When I have one, two, or even three different layouts, I submit then to the client for feedback and we decide on one. At that point I design the rest of the site using your content.

Logos and illustrations always start on paper. For some reason, paper is easier and doesn't limit me as far as creativity. I draw out a few thumbnails and then submit them to the client. When a concept is chosen, I scan the drawing into my computer and color it up in illustrator and sometimes photoshop.

For all projects, big and small, it is a partnership. We usually go back and forth a bit tweaking the design until it is what we both envisioned. This ensures that you get a professional image that you are happy with and hopefully attracts lots of business and prosperity!
